A Realtor Who Finds Homes for Horses

I just came across this ad in Horse Tales:

Buy a Parcel of Land or House through Independence Realty, mention this Ad and you can receive a Free Horse. These are halter and trailer trained, well cared for and ready to roam the range with you!

Oh wow. I've heard of free washers or a free big screen TV with a house a a free give away, but horses???

Maybe it's true, that there really is a big influx of horses right now. So many that people can't even give them away??

In our Craig's List virtually all the horse ads are for horses that cost less than $700.00!

Is that crazy, or what? I remember when I first started horse hunting, the typical price for a horse was between $1,000-3,000.

And that was just last year.

What has changed??

Great, homestead and starve a horse!

Now that is just sad! And kind of scary-I wonder how many of those people actually take the free horse with the house?

There is definitely an excess supply of low end horses now. They're selling for cheap, or being given away. Nice horses are still going for a lot, though.

I don't think this is a great idea... sounds like he's trying to cater to the "oh, we just bought a home in the country and now we want a PONY" sort of people, who might not know how to care for the animal properly.

That ad sounds scary to me. Just another way to have horses end up with someone who doesn't know how to care for them.

Oh my word... are you kidding???? how many folks can't even take care of a "simple" animal (ie: dog cat).. never mind a horse....
