Postcards from Home

This post goes out to the D-Meister, who is living in sunny, sweaty Tempe, while the rest of us back home are shivering our fannies off. Here are some photos to make you homesick or at least sick of home. When I woke up this morning and looked out the blinds, this is what I saw...

I am an evil mother. I made your brother walk a quarter of a mile through snow to the bus stop. But that was only because I thought it was safer than driving on ice without snow tires. Your father took the one vehicle with snow tires and 4WD to work.

The horses were mighty hungry this morning. They almost took my arm off when I fed them.

We had several power outages, and there was nothing to do but play with the dogs. They both got a little nuts running and rolling in the snow.

Here's a firetruck racing to the scene of most likely an accident caused by the street lights being out, or perhaps someone slipped on ice and knocked down a power pole...

I had better hurry up and post this before the next power outage.

Wow - lots of snow again! Too bad about the power outages - hope you aren't affected too much!

It amazes me how much dogs seem to love snow. My dog will roll on the last little patch of snow he can find when things start to melt...

Oh goodness! I think I am getting to used to the nice weather. All that snow was quite a shock.

But that's a gorgeous picture you took. And the dogs look like they are having fun. I almost wish I was rolling out there with Monty (But only for a minute! ;-)).

At least Colt didn't have to walk to school in the snow uphill both ways...

I wish you power and warmth!

Oh wow! And here I was out working in my flower beds today and planting a few seeds for the summer veggie garden. :P

I don't envy you that snow, although the view is absolutely gorgeous!

You must tell me about your barn. How big are the stalls? I've never seen anything quite like it.

Your pictures were great! Don't you love how clean the horses' paddock looks after it snows?

Leah - All the stalls are 12x12. Click the "barns" link in my labels on the side bar and you can read more about them.

Oh BURRRRRR!!! That looks chilly!! I can't believe how nice it was there just a few days ago, and no all that snow!! That is crazy! Great pictures of the white stuff!! I hate to tell you that it's going to be upper 70's here today. I do not miss living up north at all. Brrrrr!!!

Power outages? Does this mean you actually got a day off??? ;)

That is gorgeous!!!!

I love snow but only because I don't get it often and it rarely lasts.

Wow - that's beautiful! If that was England, though, there'd be no bus service and no one would be able to drive on the roads, because the whole country grinds to a halt as soon as we get an inch of snow!
I love the view!

Holy Yikes! Don't scare me, I just took the blankies off the girls! We're finally hitting the forties and high fifties tomorrow.

Love the dog rolling in the snow! You sure do live in a pretty area, even with all the snow.

The fresh snow is so sparkly and makes everything look so soft and magical and clean. Too bad it doesn't last, eh?

Poor Colt. I betcha he loves and appreciates his evil mama :)

Your barn looks so cute and cozy in the snow, especially with a Bombay head poking out. lol!

Stay warm and I hope your power doesn't desert you anymore.
