Kitchen Remodel: Before and After
Though we still have a few finishing touches in waiting, such as installing the back splash, touching up the paint, finishing laying down contact paper, and installing new flooring, I wanted to wrap up this series of posts with the before and after comparison pictures. The white cabinets show the old kitchen while the natural maple cabinets show the new kitchen.

I'm amazed at how much extra cabinet space we have despite removing the pantry. I did a $200 marketing and couldn't fill up all that space!

That looks excellent NuzMuz!!! Love that warm look the maple gives too. Thanks for showing off the "new" digs! ;)
Nice, very very nice! What color will the new floor be?
Jane - We haven't picked out a floor yet. Can't afford one right now. We will probably get some kind of wood laminate, but not the same shade as the cabinets, because the blinds and kitchen table are all the same shade as the cabinets, so we need some contrast. I'm also playing with the idea of terra cotta tile, but tile doesn't last very long in a house filled with boys.
Wow! just WOW You did an amazing job! It looks beautiful! Just got my cabinets today so things are taking shape here too . But again ... WOW!!!!
Very nice!! I never did like white cabinets. Your new kitchen looks very cozy and warm. I love how the black appliances and dark countertop contrast with the light wood!!
Very pretty...love the contrast of dark appliances and granite with the light and warm tones of maple. Wish I could redo my whole kitchen - maybe someday.
Looks great! Bet you can't wait to start whipping up gourmet meals everyday! Love the new look.
It looks wonderful! I love the way the cabinets and countertops turned out.
Your kitchen re model looks awesome! I am jealous of all your counter space :)
It looks so good!! I know I've told you before that I love your new cabinets, and I absolutely love your counter tops! The color of the counters is exactly what I would put in my kitchen! Great job!!!
It looks even better in person! hehe!
And just think. You'll be able to do lots of stocking up on supplies and not have to waste your precious time and gas going to the market as often. :)

Nice! I like it a lot! Just in time to enjoy your hard work for Thanksgiving!
It looks AMAZING, NM! Like a different room entirely! I am so glad you took the plunge and did it! :o)
beautiful! inspiring! i love the handles on the drawers and cabinets. i would have chosen those myself.
(i did, when i remodeled a kitchen years ago. i love that burnished silver so you know what, our wedding rings are burnished silver!)
i think it would be funny, since you live with more than one person, if you had one of those cute signs on the fridge with a little stylized button on it. the sign reads, "Push button to call maid. If no maid comes, clean it up yourself." *LOL*
have fun cooking in there!

Looks great! The new appliances sure look good too!
Glad you have most of the work done. I'm sure you have added a lot of value to your home - kitchens renos are really worth the money and effort...
Absolutely beautiful! So warm and spacious in there! I LOVE IT!!
Very stylish!
Sounds like a good ride on Bombay the other day too!
It looks beautiful and really brightens and warms your kitchen.
Beautiful, and yes, it IS inspiring! Congrats! I'm looking at mine and cringing!
WArm and homey comes to mind! LOVE the color in the granite! Good job!
Gorgeous! What a difference. Does this mean you are cooking for Thanksgiving?? he he
You might want to rethink the tile. Gets slippy and dangerous when wet, no matter what you do to it. The part that is finished looks fabulous. Wish mine was completed. It was started three years ago and then the economy tanked and nothing is finished. Still useable, but.....
WOW!! Your kitchen looks FABULOUS!! I love it!! I really love your counter tops!! Love the slanted corner cabinet too!! Very nice! You guys did a great job!
This looks great. I wish I could do something like that. I just read about interior design for kitchens at http://www.thegypsyscorner.com/2009/11/kitchen-remodel-step-2.html and am planning the next remodel. Thanks for the inspiration.
I was thinking your old kitchen looked just fine, but the new version is fantastic! Great job !! You guys must feel really good about it.
Hey just look at that! Nice transformation. From the pics I could see that you left the kitchen ceiling untouched and that matches the interior color. Looks good!
