Signs of Spring

I'm getting really excited. We've gone one whole day without snow, and the sun came out for a few hours. Then I saw a fly inside the house. A fly! Flies don't usually come around until August and they disappear in October or November. I never thought I'd be so happy to see a fly. Then I heard honking and looked up to see several flocks of geese flying NORTH! Woo hoo!

I'm looking forward to Spring as well. It's going to be in the high 20's tonight in North Florida. What's up with that?!

Glad you didn't get any snow today and found a fly. We're getting hammered, must be from the storm that missed you on that side of the country! Enjoy it while it lasts.

Hmm, I'd be excited except we're supposed to get snow and freezing rain tomorrow. I'm not seeing the signs yet. Maybe this is Ma Nature's last hurrah.

Come on Spring!

Isn't that weird, a fly? Where do they come from in the winter?
Glad you had a day without snow...send some my way! I've had none of the beautiful white stuff to photograph all winter! :(
Are you going to try to say hello to my sis Paint Girl at the Scottsdale Arabian show?? I know she'd love to meet you! In between wiping horses faces and tacking them up....LOL!

That's great! Our weather is expected to clear up too. We've had four days in a row of snow! That has to be a record for us!! It still feels like winter- very cold for the middle of February.

Pony Girl - I'll keep an eye out for Paint Girl. Fortunately, she's posted enough pictures of herself that I should be able to recognize her if we cross paths.

The geese should arrive back in Alaska sometime in April or May. I'll be on the lookout for them. Funny, their honking is such a mournful sound in the fall and yet so welcome in the spring.

Yay! But around here I don't fall for that Springtime tease. I know we've gotten snow all the way up to Memorial Day. We often have bouts of warm temps, only to be followed by more wintery weather and snowfall.

This next week the temps are supposed to climb up to the high 40's. I'm going to enjoy every last minute and try to go outside. Of course, everything will probably be a muddly, sloppy mess because all of our snow will be melting. bah!

But I'm not going to count on Spring arriving so soon. The groundhog gave us a warning....
