April 5th

The wind blew all weekend, getting stronger and more violent. This morning I overslept thanks to the silence, stepped outside, and this is what I saw...

Midge always makes a beeline for the space under the horse trailer when I bring her outside, because bunnies like to sleep under there.

With all that green grass, you can see why. I love the first time I relocate the horse trailer in the spring and let the horses have at it with that grass. They always seem so grateful.

That little cave under the tarp is where I dig the flakes of hay out for the horses' meals.

The snow crushed my hyacinths before I could get a picture of them in all their spring glory. Those hyacinths are pretty much the only flowers we can rely on blooming every year, with the exception of some flowering weeds.

Yikes! I would not be a happy camper to wake up to that! I know this , because it can and does happen here right through until late MAy!

Reminds me of my first Easter in Alaska. I had dressed up and was wearing sandals when it started to snow A LOT. I had to wear my husband's boots to get back to the car and have someone take them back to him.

Wow! That surprise snow storm is even worse than the ones we get in Nebraska!

The poor hyacinths. Can't believe you've got more snow. Happy Easter to the bunnies under the trailer.

I can't believe all that snow!! Wish y'all would get a break already. I'd be so disappointed if I saw that when I woke up.
Although the horses look snug in their barn :)
BTW, it's 80 and sunny down here and I'm riding out to check fenceline. Move down here!!

AAGHHH!!!

If I woke up to that I would go nuts. I just bathed Indigo today and it was nice out. Hopefully it melts in short order.

Oh my goodness! And here I was moaning about the gray day we had yesterday. Temps were in the high 70s though.

Beautiful pix. Please keep that crap :-)

EWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! Snow on April 5th? Yikes!

Hope it melts ASAP! We've been lucky here - no signs of spring snow. (yet).

Yikes! You should move down here near Palm Springs!!! But, then our summers are up in the 120 degrees! You probably wouldn't like that!

Yikes! I keep holding my breath hoping we don't wake up to a Spring snow storm. We've gottem snow all the way into Memorial Day weekend here and the other day I saw blooms on my fruit trees. A late snowstorm will destroy any chance at fruit this summer.

It makes me sad to see snow on Spring flowers, too.

I love the photo of Bombay. Gorgeous!
But snow in April is just not pretty.

I'm amazed that that green grass grows so well covered up by the trailer like that.
There is nothing so green and lush growing here yet.
